Our 2008 Premiere lot is a selection from our oldest block (16 years old) on our PlumpJack Estate, I block. The fruit was barrel fermented in three new 700-liter Seguin Moreau French oak puncheons. After fermentation the wine was transferred to new Taransaud and Darnajou barrels. Battonage was performed once a month for the first six months. After six months the wine was racked by hand and blended together. One barrel went into the 2006 PlumpJack Reserve but we kept the other separate to be auctioned off today.
