Philippe Melka
Winemaker, Fairchild Napa Valley
Philippe began at Chateau Haut Brion where his passion for cabernet-based blends and sauvignon blanc began. Additionally, he has worked at the renowned Dominus Estate and Chateau Petrus.

Education: Geology degree from the University of Bordeaux. Masters program in Agronomy and Enology.

Named as one of the top nine wine consultants in the world by Robert Parker.
Winemaking Philosophy:
Philippe believes that a grape must tell the story of its native soil. His pursuit of excellence in our wines is equaled only by his dedication to precision in winemaking. A proponent of vineyard-based wines and a native of Bordeaux, France he has devoted the past 15 years to winemaking in the Napa Valley. Its diversity of terroir and potential for extraordinary wines has been the foundation of a prolific winemaking career.
