- The 2018 growing season was characterized by its overall cool conditions and longer growing period, allowing the resulting wine to reach an optimal maturity level with slightly lower alcohol
- A truly balanced expression from the site between the dark and profound fruit profile with fine-grained tannin structure
Description
Planted in 1998, the Faust estate vineyard is situated on gentle slopes in the Coombsville nested appellation that feature an alluring combination of volcanic soils and cool climate conditions. For this year’s lot, winemaker David Jelinek selected premier lots of our Coombsville estate that feature dark fruit, graphite, tobacco notes and dark cocoa flavors. This created a unique edition of Pact, which commemorates the 20th anniversary of our commitment to Coombsville.

Winemaker, Faust
David Jelinek joined as the winemaker for Faust in early 2016. Known amongst his colleagues for his passion for excellence, attention to detail and high standards - yet still someone you would want to have a beer with - David was the perfect fit for the team at Faust. He brings a wealth of knowledge from 18 years working in the wine industry and experience with The Prisoner Wine Company, Epoch Winery, Summerwood, Harlan, Groth, and Joseph Phelps.
