Description

The Paul Hobbs Nathan Coombs Estate is a reflection of Paul’s obsessive quest toward the pinnacle of quality. Undulating hills of gravelly loams and rocky volcanic soils, and cooler temperatures than found further upvalley, provide for a site which expresses itself with power balanced by finesse, purity of fruit, precision and complexity in this rare and special wine. As with every Paul Hobbs estate, sustainability and responsible stewardship of the land are core to the farming philosophy. Fruit is hand-harvested with sheers only. The must is fermented with indigenous yeast in small closed-top tanks, and the resulting wine is aged in 100 percent new French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Decades of experience with, and passion for, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon culminate in this single barrel, meticulously blended by Paul to showcase an authentic expression of this singular site.
