This rare expression of Napa Valley winemaking is one of only 120 bottles that will ever be made. Think of it as a bit of Napa Valley history in your cellar and celebrated in a glass with friends and family.
The fruit for your Premiere Napa Valley wine comes predominantly from a single, well-chosen Merus Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard site in Coombsville. This vineyard site is one of the coolest sites in Napa Valley, which allows for longer hang time. The wine was treated to small-lot fermentation and careful lot selection, creating a wine that is dense and nuanced. It was aged slowly for over 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels.

Winemaker, Merus
Started as an Enologist in 1986 at Robert Pecota. Then joined Acacia in 1987 where he became head Winemaker in 1992 and then became general manager/winemaker in 1997. In 2002 started at Kuleto Estate where he still works in conjunction with being winemaker at Merus, both in the Foley Family Wines portfolio.

Winemaking Philosophy:
He will employ a slightly more natural approach to making the wine (e.g. more native yeast, less acidulation of the must, some cooler fermentations), and to have the wine reflect more of its nature (variety, site, vintage) rather than being overwhelmed by its nurture (winemaking).
