An immersive, hands-on pursuit, this blend is crafted with intention and reverence for Napa Valley’s most storied sites. At its core, 95% Cabernet Sauvignon rises from elite vineyards—Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper, Oakville Ranch’s Saunders Block, and Renteria’s coveted 360 Vineyard—each contributing structure, energy, and depth. Elevating the blend is a rare and compelling 5% of Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet Franc, a quiet luxury that adds aromatic power and layered complexity. The wine rests for 28 months in 100% new Taransaud and Darnajou French oak, emerging refined yet commanding—a statement of precision, patience, and unmistakable gravitas.

I began by following my father around at Villa Mt. Eden, now Plumpjack, back in the late 1970's. From there he moved to Groth and I got to know my way around the crush pad. In 1995 I entered into the Vit. and Enol. program at Davis and in '98 graduated with a B.S. degree. In 1999 I began work for the Venge label and in 2008 took the brand over. In addition, I've been a consulting winemaker for the past 10 years.
