Description
Crocker & Starr was founded on 100 cases of Cabernet Franc in 1997. As such, it seems only fitting to share the heritage of Crocker & Starr and its relationship with Cabernet Franc in their inaugural Premiere Napa Valley wine. Sourced exclusively from the historic Crocker estate in St. Helena, “The Goddess” refers to the secret clone of Cabernet Franc, which traveled here in someone’s suitcase, from the Old World. The Goddess Cabernet Franc has complexity, concentration and incredible texture due to the meticulous research and planning by owner Pam Starr, for the relationship between soil and grape. To enhance this wine even further, winemaker Evyn Cameron added a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon for another layer of depth and finesse. Your wine is aging for 22 months in French oak from two single barrels.

Winemaker, Crocker & Starr Wines
Evyn Cameron originally hails from Wyckoff, New Jersey and attended Boston University, where she played soccer and graduated with a degree from their school of Hospitality Administration.
Her career began in Manhattan, where she worked in the front of house for Thomas Keller’s Per Se, but she longed for a career in wine. In 2009, she followed her passion and moved to Napa to pursue winemaking. After working at various outstanding wineries in Napa and New Zealand, Evyn was hired as the Enologist at Cliff Lede Vineyards and after 4 years left to become the Assistant Winemaker at Anaba Wines in Carneros.
In 2017, after learning of the opportunity to work with highly respected winemaker Pam Starr, at Crocker & Starr, Evyn jumped at the chance. In 2019, Evyn was promoted to head Winemaker and the rest is history. She likes all Crocker & Starr wines for different reasons, adding, “This property is so versatile and that shows in each of our wines.”
When she’s not in the winery, Evyn enjoys tending to her large backyard garden, cooking, playing with her Springer Lab/Queensland Heeler mix Pepper, and exploring nature with her wife, Cari, and son, Crosby.
