I learned the craft from working for wineries for the past 40 years. Driving forklifts into the barrel head of Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon at Caymus, knocking over rows of glassware filled with Cabernet Franc at Clos du Val and crashing tractors into end posts of Merlot vineyards at Neibaum-Coppola. In 1993 I made our first Cabernet Franc, under the Lang & Reed label which gave us the inspiration to get our bonded winery operating in 1996.
