After starting in Washington state, I attended UC Davis for a Master's degree. Then I headed to Napa Valley to work at Robert Mondavi Winery for 12 years,where I met first Salvador Renteria and then his son, Oscar. I have a tremendous respect for their vineyard care in Napa Valley. In 1997, I left to work as a winemaking consultant and also to have my own label. Renteria was one of the first wineries I started with and have continued with them since 1997.
