Number Nine is named for the singular
vineyard block at Turnbull Wine Cellar’s
stunning Leopoldina Vineyard high on the
Oakville Bench from which this wine was
crafted. Block Number Nine is a nearly vertical
face of shattered rock, tightly planted with a
perfect exposure and commanding view over
the scenic Napa Valley. The resulting wine
fuses elegant floral verve and broad dark
power into a focused composition that details
the textured tannins for which the Oakville
Bench is legendary.
Harvested October 21st, 2010. Pressed off skins October 12th, 2010 directly to 100% new French Oak. ML fermentation took place in barrel, with weekly stirring of the lees, until complete on April 21st, 2011. At readiness, the wine will be barrel aged for 20-22 months prior to disgorging to bottle.
