Description
Benessere is proud to release the first and only 2000 vintage "Brunello" clone Sangiovese. The beginning of the new millennium was an excellent time for our estate vineyards to produce a Sangiovese that required no blending varietals to make the wine complete. Since 1995, we have endeavored to produce a varietally true, delicious wine from the Sangiovese grape in California. We have relied on purchasing excellent fruit from growers up until now. Planted in 1997, our estate vineyards have yet to develop their full potential. However, due to the severe thinning and manicuring of the vines, the resultant wine from the 2000 vintage was ripe, rich and highly extracted. Although more fruit-forward than a true "Brunello," this lot will age and evolve for years to come.
