Description
The 2001 blend is created from Estate vineyards in the Mt. Veeder appellation. Mountain vineyards bring a variety of soil types, from rock piles to thin and volcanic with a range of sun orientations and elevations from 900 to 2,000 feet. These stressed vines produce small berries of intense flavor and structure. Utilizing hand selection and meticulous vineyard practices the result is great fruit. The effort yields a wine of concentration, an abundance of complex flavors and supple tannins that are very well balanced. This wine is both powerful and ageworthy.
