Description
Take your preconceived Merlot notions and check them at the door: this lot is not that wine. A large portion of the fruit came from high-altitude Stagecoach Vineyard, where the Merlot is so concentrated, you could use it to give Cabernet Sauvignon more backbone. We then softened and broadened the flavor with supple Merlot from Calistoga. The end result has tremendous structure and an explosion of textured flavors of red and black fruits, all backed by a plushness that defines great Merlot.
