Winemaker, Kelleher Family Vineyards
Craig Becker has been winemaker at Kelleher Family Vineyard and Peacock since harvest of 2003. Craig is a graduate of the University of California, Davis where he majored in Soil Science and Plant Physiology. He discovered wine while at UCD and then decided to continue his education and while working at Robert Monday Winery in Oakville. Craig's next move was up to Spring Mountain Vineyard in 1998 where he was fully exposed to the integration of vineyard management practices and wine making. Two mentors, David Ramey and Daniel Roberts, guided Craig in his journey toward becoming the successful winemaker he is today.
Craig has sought out projects such as Kelleher Wines and Peacock since it gives him the ability to manage and direct the vineyards. He firmly believes that a truly great wine comes from a well cared for vineyard and he has pursued only the finest vineyards from which to make his wines. Craig's other projects include Cross Cellars, Dovetail Wines, Balcom Family Wines, Priest Ranch and Somerston Vineyards.
