Q&A With the Winemaker

Q: Premiere Napa Valley wines are innovative and allow each winery to showcase the region's sense of exploration in fine winemaking. What kind of exploration did your Premiere Napa Valley wine allow you to do?

A: These old vines are in Yountville, just north of Dominus. Making the Premier lot allows us to explore the depths of flavor you can only get from vines that have been there for 50 years.

Q: What was your inspiration for this offering?

A: The vines are more than 50 years old and its a pleasure to have them available to us.

A: I chose to make this wine from this particular  block  because  it's some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines still alive in the Napa Valley.

Q: Why should a wine lover have a bottle of this wine in their cellar?

A: There are very few bottles that hold Cabernet made from vines this old, also made from someone who has been making wine for 50 years.
