Description
Regusci Winery used to sell Block 3 Cabernet
Sauvignon to the Joesph Phelps Winery for the
10 years it has been in production. Reportedly,
Phelps put the grapes in its Insignia blend.
So it was terra incognito to us when we got
the block back. There are two clones planted
on the block; the one this wine comes from is
Clone 6, that shatters so badly that there
aren’t many berries left. But the fruit in there
makes a dense, rich, flavorful Cabernet.
This is the first Regusci production of Clone 6.
There will be no other release of this wine
other than this offering—don’t miss out!

Over the years, Charles has worked in both Napa and Sonoma Counties, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of winemaking. He has built a strong reputation for the passion of excellence throughout the industry, and has workedas a consulting winemaker for many exclusive wineries over the years, such as Viader, Barnett Vineyards, Paoletti Vineyards, Regusci Winery, and Tamayo Family Vineyard.

Education: Charles is well-grounded in the science of winemaking. As a 1982 UC Davis viticulture graduate, Charles was able to tailor his own curriculum, and was one of the earliest to integrate winemaking and viticulture course work.

Winemaking Philosophy:
Charles sees himself as an assistant to the natural bounty of the vineyards, using his knowledge and experience to guide and coax the very best from the wine grapes. Charles believes in minimal intervention in the wine cellar, but knows that if we leave nature completely on its own, we would be in the vinegar business!
