Description
We've blown the head off this barrel! Literally. Our winemaker has selected the richest, most concentrated and most integrated of our barrel fermented lots from 2011 and created this one-of-a-kind barrel for Premiere Napa Valley.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine comes from our estate vineyards located on the famed Rutherford Bench. Hand sorted, uncrushed whole berries go directly to new French oak barrels that have had their heads removed, then replaced, for a 40 – 50 day fermentation on skins. The barrels were rotated up to six times a day to produce the ultimate integration of oak, softer tannins, stabilized color and rounder, richer flavors. We've found flavors of blackberry, black cherries, dark chocolate, espresso bean and always the expression of the famous Rutherford Dust. We trust you'll find the same. BV… wow!!

Winemaker, Beaulieu Vineyard
Jeffrey has worked at Beaulieu Vineyard for nearly 20 years, combining a deep knowledge of viticulture with intuitive winemaking. He joined BV in 1989 as a viticulture-enologist, and for many years, served as an important connection between the winery and its historic vineyards in Napa Valley. He believes his experience working with legendary winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff was an opportunity to learn from a master.
