Description
Somerston is located in the eastern hills on nearly four square miles of rugged, pristine land. For Premiere Napa Valley we present you with this single-block, Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was grown on one of the highest vineyards in the Napa Valley, at 2,400 feet above sea level. The soil there is known as Berryessa and is 70% gravel, which allows for excellent drainage. These conditions combine to produce a wine of amazingly intense and complex flavors.

Craig Becker is a seasoned winemaker and has worked with a wide range of varieties planted at some of California's top hillside vineyards.

Education: Driven by his strong interest in plant and soil science Craig attended the University of California at Davis studying plant physiology, hydrologic science, enology, and viticulture.

Winemaking Philosophy:
It is Craig's artisan approach to winemaking and his extensive knowledge in viticulture that enables him to create superb wines from a wide range of varieties and sites.
