Porter Family Vineyards' flagship varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, are grown on our hillside estate vineyard of rich volcanic soils in the renowned Coombsville area. A blend from our best barrels of small-lot fermentations selected from lots destined for our two flagship wines. Crafted for complexity, elegance and an evolution of taste on your palate.

24 months in new oak (Cabernet Sauvignon); 24 months in 50% new/50% 1-year old oak (Syrah)

Q&A With the Winemaker
Q: Premiere Napa Valley wines are innovative and allow each winery to showcase the region's sense of exploration in fine winemaking. What kind of exploration did your Premiere Napa Valley wine allow you to do?
A: Coombsville is a unique region of Napa Valley, with many smaller vineyards and producers. This wine features Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the Porter Family Estate and Syrah from the Shearer Vineyard. The Shearer Syrah is surprisingly tannic and full-bodied and has great synergy with the elegant Porter Family Cabernet.
Q: What was your inspiration for this offering?
A: The unique and elegant fruit and wine styles that the Coombsville area produces so well.

A: I chose to make this wine from this particular blends because the sum was greater than the parts. The wines exhibited a beautiful synergy that accentuated the best qualities of the varietals and the vineyards.

A: This is truly a unique wine, harvested from small, well-tended and nurtured vineyards, and crafted by a small, quality-oriented producer. It takes special grapes and wine to successfully marry Syrah and Cabernet without losing one to the other.
