Description
This stunning 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Luxe, is a decadent blend, hailing from our Crystal Springs Rockwell Ridge Estate Vineyard (35 feet below the Howell Mountain appellation demarcation line) as well as ultra premium fruit from Atlas Peak and Pritchard Hill. The 2019 vintage was a fantastic one in Napa Valley, where we were able to be patient and harvest all of our fruit exactly when we wanted to — not Mother Nature. Also in 2019, we left our long-tenured winemaking facility to move to The Caves at Soda Canyon’s winemaking facility on Atlas Peak where they have an optical sorter and other state-of-the-art winemaking equipment. As a result, we were able to make better wines than ever before, and you’ll immediately notice the elegant texture on the mid-palate to be rounder and more approachable in its youth than in previous years. Ralph Hertelendy is a young entrepreneur who fell in love with wine at a very early age. When Ralph was 5 years old in France, he tasted one of the best French Grand Crus, and remembered liking it not just for the flavor, but also because it brought friends and family together. After getting his business degree from the University of San Francisco, Ralph became a sommelier and worked for several wineries in the Napa Valley in sales, and as a winemaker's assistant under Laura Barrett.
When he was 25, he made his first wine in his basement, and over the years he has refined his craft towards creating only top quality style wines. Being multilingual, he has lived and traveled in France, Italy, and Spain to go on wine explorations in specific regions to further hone his craft and broaden his horizons.
