They say the very best wines all begin in the vineyard. Our process always begins by identifying the most proven, most iconic vineyards in Napa from which to source our fruit. From these gems, winemaker Jeff Ames crafts small quantities of single-vineyard designated Cabernet Sauvignon, made in the classic new world style that defines big Napa Cabernet as a genre of its own. To say that the Boich Family Cellar 2016 Missouri Hopper Vineyard Proprietor’s Barrel is opulent would be a glaring understatement. This wine has a mature personality all its own that radiates all the beauty found in wines from this esteemed vineyard. The dark and stalwart 2016 Hopper shows aromas of mission fig, black cherry, molasses and pipe tobacco. Notes of vanilla bean, cinnamon and black licorice linger in the background and add mystery to the aromatic profile. The palate is layered and expansive with dark fruits and chewy Asian plum components.
