Description
This rare expression of Napa Valley winemaking is one of only 60 bottles that will ever be made. Think of it as a bit of Napa Valley history in your cellar and celebrated in a glass with friends and family.
Your Premiere Napa Valley wine focuses on fruit from VHR’s hillside Block 6 in the Oakville nested appellation. Tucked along the wooded hills of the Mayacamas Mountain Range, lush, aromatic Cabernet Sauvignon grapes thrive in the well-drained soil and temperate climate of this site and exude an earthy, forest-floor chaparral quality along with concentrated and expressive black fruit flavors. Harvested at optimal ripeness and meticulously sorted, this wine underwent cold-soaking, and an extended maceration. Native yeast was utlized and the wine was aged in new French oak barrels.

Francoise Peschon
Winemaker, VHR, Vine Hill Ranch
Raised in California's wine country with family roots in Luxembourg, Francoise received an enology degree from UC Davis. After post-graduate work at the University of Bordeaux and an apprenticeship at Chateau Haut-Brion, Francoise returned to the Napa Valley.
In 1993, Francoise joined Araujo Estate, soon stepping into the role of winemaker. The reputation of the vineyard and the Phillips Family's determination to craft a wine of place drew Francoise to VHR in 2008.
