Description

In 1992 we replanted our four-acre estate vineyard, not knowing that 20 years later Hourglass would be recognized as one of Napa’s premier Cabernets. By acquiring the Blueline Estate we obtained a vineyard containing Merlot and Cab Franc planted in 1991. Winemaker Tony Biagi was captivated by the idea of blending the three varietals from both estates’ 20-year-old vines. Hourglass 20 /20 was born. For Premiere, we crafted a wine that is 60% Hourglass Cabernet, 20% each Blueline Merlot and Cabernet Franc—a rich blend that comes alive with the minerality that the 20-year-old roots mine from the rocky depths of each vineyard. Its structure and purity of fruit leads one to expect this wine to age as long and gracefully as its vines!
