Description
The 1989 J. Schram Late Disgorged, aged 25 years on the yeast lees, has extraordinary depth of aroma and flavor. While quietly resting in our 19th century Diamond Mountain caves, the wine has developed a pleasant viscosity on the palate and a long, lingering finish. Its fruitful flavors of peach, apricot and Meyer lemon fill the palate and are accentuated with aromas of warm honey, hazelnut and brioche. Disgorged specifically for Premiere Napa Valley 2015, this lot epitomizes our philosophy to create a wine in which no effort is spared and no care omitted. Still youthful and vibrant, the 1989 J. Schram late disgorged will delight for many years to come.

Winemaking Philosophy:
Working closely in the vineyards with the growers throughout the growing season to ensure that the highest quality fruit is delivered to the winery. To me, winemaking success is achieved in the vineyard; using minimalist winemaking techniques, I work to express the varietal and unique characteristics of each vineyard. I believe I have succeeded when the finished wine has intriguing character that challenges and rewards the senses.
