Description
This rare expression of Napa Valley winemaking is one of only 60 bottles that will ever be made. Think of it as a bit of Napa Valley history in your cellar and celebrated in a glass with friends and family.
Your Premiere Napa Valley wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Gregory Bitz’s single-acre Jack’s Vineyard at 1,700 feet atop Howell Mountain. It was selected by winemaker David Tate from a single barrel deemed to be a pure and unique micro-vineyard expression of Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. After hand picking and a couple of days of cold maceration, the fermentation kicked off and pump overs were preformed twice-a-day for twelve days. The short period of maceration was due to the small berries and quick extraction. The wine was then pressed and will age in French oak barrels for 22 months.

David Tate
Winemaker, Tate Wines
David has worked in the Barossa Valley, Australia; Provence, France; Canterbury, New Zealand, Tuscany Italy and has traveled to every fine wine region in the world. David graduated from Brock University in 2002, with an Honors Degree in Enology and Viticulture. Prior to working with Barnett where he is the G.M. and winemaker, David was the assistant winemaker at Ridge Vineyards for five years atop Montebello in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
With these over 28 years of experience the groundwork has been laid for David's commitment to quality and understanding of what it takes to produce premium, world-class wine with a sense of place. David's research work has been published (AJEV) and he is an advocate of wine education as he has a diploma from and is a guest lecturer for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET).
