Description
In 2011 Mother Nature only gave us 40% of our normal bounty, so our Premiere offering is truly culled from the best of a very small selection. Some may ask why do we offer anything this year? I say, ask my wife.
Pinot Noir from our Brown Ranch Estate, one ton per acre of an intensely fruited and extracted Pinot—an extraordinary wine from a once-in-a-lifetime vintage. A whopping 20 cases for the successful bidder ... gulp.

Upon graduation from the University of Burgundy with a winemaking diploma, I moved to Napa Valley in 1997 and focused my winemaking career on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Prior to Saintsbury, I worked at Littorai Wines under the tutelage of Ted Lemon, crafting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley and Russian River Valley appellations

Winemaking Philosophy:
I try to preserve fruit and flavor intensity all the way through the process of winemaking, regardless of the final use for each lot made at Saintsbury. I think that the motto "less is better" works wonderfully well with the two famous Burgundy varieties.
