Five Element Theory
2010 Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley
According to Eastern Five Element Theory, the five elements (earth, wood, metal, fire and water) are in constant motion and evolution. The interdependence and mutual restraint of the five elements explain the complex relationship between material objects as well as the unity between the human body and the natural world. Align the five elements and achieve harmony. So too in wine. Starting with the 2010 vintage, Hourglass now harvests all five Bordeaux varietals from our two estate vineyards. The 2010 Five Element Theory blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec into a harmonious and seductive blend.
