Description
This small lot of 2011 Napa Valley Petite Sirah is a standout red wine of the vintage for Biale. Deeply-fruited and textural, this dark-robed Petite Sirah shows all the brazen beauty that has been prized by winemakers for more than 100 years of Napa Valley viticultural history. Grapegrowers who commonly called it "Petasera" loved it for its dark fruit, structure, and ability to enhance red wine, particularly in years when underpowered wines needed a little added voltage.
Today, Biale is preserving and planting small lots of Petite Sirah in Rutherford, Calistoga, Chiles Valley, St.Helena, and Oak Knoll and advancing the reputation of this historic Napa Valley classic.

Enjoyed wines since 5 years old. At U.C. Berkeley fell within the orbit of Napa and Sonoma red wines and at professors' end of term parties.
Started at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in the lab, and worked through several wineries over the years including Clos du Val and Jarvis. And now at Biale - my favorite stop so far...
