Description

Longtime Napa Valley viticulturist Michael Black always loved Merlot. Prior to planting the vineyard surrounding his home in Napa's Coombsville area in 1987, Michael propagated his own Merlot clone. The goal was small berries and clusters that would concentrate the complexities and structure in the fruit. The result, which he named the Black Clone, are wines with the kind of grace and power that give support to why Merlot wines are often the most expensive in the world.
