Description
Channeling the trail-blazing spirit of Napa Valley’s mountain settlers, Mt. Brave’s 100% Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is a pure variety and appellation expression. While Mt. Brave classically produces blended Cabernet Sauvignons, we chose to create this single-variety Premiere Napa Valley lot as an homage to the Wappo people, known as "the brave ones," and to Mt. Veeder's mountain pioneers who understood the viticulture potential of this rugged mountain appellation.

A Chicago native, I earned a BS in biology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I gained experience as a harvest enologist at Domaine Carneros Winery, a vineyard intern at Domaine Chandon California, and a research intern at Tenute Antinori, Santa Cristina Estate, in Montefiridolfi, Italy. In 1998 I received an MS in horticulture from the Department of Viticulture and Enology at the University of California, Davis.
I joined the winemaking team at the Cardinale Estate in 1998 and was quickly promoted through the ranks as Winemaker in 2001. In 2007 we conceived of Mt. Brave and I assumed the reigns as Winemaker.
