Description
For our Premiere Napa Valley lot, we created a block selection of Cabernet Sauvignon from our Spring Mountain estate vineyard. Fruit from this vineyard embodies our winegrowing philosophy, and the density, concentration and vibrancy of the dark fruit character it imparts on our wines reveals what makes Spring Mountain so spectacular.
The stressful conditions of mountain vineyard farming are highlighted by the rich and powerful structure of in this wine, illustrating the balance between the work of nature and human.

My first winemaking job was at Bernardus Winery in Carmel Valley, starting in the cellar and became the assistant winemaker. I then worked at Bridlewood and Sterling Vineyard before coming to Newton Vineyard in May 2008.

Winemaking Philosophy:
I enjoy working with the intense fruit that Newton's Spring Mountain vineyard provides, aiming to interfere as little as possible. This means using the native yeasts and bottling wine unfiltered, which is a more meticulous, laborious approach, but worth it.
