From these barrels, we weave together the finest elements to produce a second wine from the property, The Maiden. While it is remarkably faithful to the vineyard’s pedigree and the underlying character of the first wine, The Maiden possesses merits all its own.

As we find ourselves opening slightly older vintages, like the 2010 The Maiden, we are gaining a deeper appreciation of how gracefully the wines are evolving. As the fruit starts to recede a bit and yields to secondary notes and savory flavors, the wine expresses the land in a more dramatic and complex way. There is an intriguing delicacy that emerges, engaging the intellect as well as evoking emotions. The power and precision of its youth has started to become finessed while keeping its energy and freshness.
