Description

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon comes exclusively from our estate Abela Vineyard, which is in the heart of the Rutherford nested appellation, just off the Silverado Trail. Named after Charlie Abela, an original proprietor of the winery, our Abela Vineyard is sustainably grown and hand-harvested at the peak of ripeness. We fermented this wine in four upright French oak 500-liter puncheons. Fermenting this wine for 28 days on the skins leads to an intense mouthfeel and well-integrated, chalky tannins. Separating the free-run-wine from the skins at the end of fermentation offers elegant flavors and aromas of black fruit, violet, lavender and graphite.
