Description

For Premiere Napa Valley, we offer our first vineyard-designated wine, Tourmaline Vineyard. The fruit from this vineyard, located in the new Coombsville appellation, typically forms the backbone of our flagship wine, PATEL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. But because of its purity and focus, we chose to let it shine on its own for this special bottling. Tourmaline Vineyard’s sloping terrain and cooler climate allow the grapes to ripen evenly, and its slightly distressed soils and lower precipitation result in smaller clusters. Fruit from this vineyard consistently packs intense color and an opulent character, resulting in a wine with layers of dark fruit, mouth-watering acid and a long, rich finish.

Aging Process

The wine continues to carefully age in new 100% French oak barrels from artisan French Coopers. To assure proper aging we age our wines for about 20 months in a combination of rare barrels from Ana Selection and Darnajou. After many blending trials, the wine is bottled, unfine and unfiltered. Aged for 12 months in bottle before release.
