Description
In 2009, Mike Grgich celebrated 51 years of winemaking in Napa Valley! To mark this more than half century of winemaking excellence, we highlighted the small block of Petit Verdot in our certified organic and Biodynamic® Yountville Vineyard. To add even more complexity, we added a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon from vines that are even older than the winery: they were planted in 1959.
Aging Process
Three weeks in stainless steel tanks for fermentation, then aged in 60 gal. French barrels (30% new) for 20 months.

Q: Premiere Napa Valley wines are innovative and allow each winery to showcase the region's sense of exploration in fine winemaking. What kind of exploration did your Premiere Napa Valley wine allow you to do?
A: We focused on the small plot of Petit Verdot here, blending in a little of Cabernet Sauvignon that was planted in 1959.
