Description
Rutherford Hill's success in bottling Napa Valley Merlot has been established over the last three decades. For the 2012 Premiere Napa Valley, we chose to demonstrate that there is more to know about Rutherford Hill than Merlot.
Winemaker Marisa Taylor Huffaker took three distinct but compatible varietals from the 2010 harvest and wove them into a dense, aromatically engaging wine we named Harmony. Harmony is an outstanding and delicious blend that reflects the best attributes of its three contributing varietals: Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Winemaker, Rutherford Hill Winery
Growing up among the vineyards of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, I guess perhaps I was destined to find a career in winemaking. At a young age, I recall visits to the vineyards to watch my godfather, a vineyard manager, work with the vines. And like most people who grow up in wine country, wine was a typical fixture at my family's dinner table. I developed a deep appreciation for the process of taking the tender grapes from vine to the glass, generating the spark of what would become my professional calling

Education: Marisa graduated from the University of California, Davis, first with a B.S. in Chemistry and then an M.S. in Food Science-Enology.

Winemaking Philosophy:
What is in the glass should reflect what is in the vineyards. My desire is to to help the grapes express themselves in the best possible way.
