Description
75% Morisoli Vineyard, Rutherford 25% Lewelling Vineyard, St. Helena This lush 2008 blend is our debut offering for PNV, a "Twist" on our traditional 50/50 bottling of these two spectacular vineyards. This one has muscle, but approaches with the smooth touch of a velvet glove. Layers of brooding dark plum and sexy black cherry give way to silky blackstrap molasses and a lingering black licorice finish. We spun the blending wheel, and discovered magnificence!

Amy's love affair with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon started in the late 1980s when she began her winemaking career at Joseph Phelps Vineyards.It was there that she cut her teeth on the king of grapes and became intimate with some of Napa Valley's finest sites. In 2000 Amy decided it was time to fashion her own wine from vineyards that offered superior aromatics, flavors, textures and character.

Q&A With the Winemaker
Q: Premiere Napa Valley wines are innovative and allow each winery to showcase the region's sense of exploration in fine winemaking. What kind of exploration did your Premiere Napa Valley wine allow you to do?
A: To create a "dream wine" from the cellar. I took my very favorite barrel & vineyard selections and blended specific portions of them to produce a unique wine for PNV.
Q: What was your inspiration for this offering?
A: The boldness of Rutherford Dust nuanced with the spice and toniness of St. Helena fruit. (It doesn't have to hurt to be good)

A: I chose to make this wine from this particular Cabernet blend because It showcases great Cabernet Sauvignon from historical Napa Valley vineyards in a powerful yet graceful way. (It drinks big yet it's in balance)

A: Because "The Twist" tastes great now and will develop in to an even better wine in the years to come. It has balance, style and longevity built in.
