- Sourced from the A2 Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench, a coveted parcel just west of Conn Creek
- Western exposure and cool morning mist allow fruit to ripen slowly and reach full phenolic maturity
- A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with components of Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc; aging 22 to 24 months in medium-plus toasted Dargaud et Jaegle French oak barrels
- Rich and full-bodied, bursting with notes of cassis, cedar and cherry with a long, rewarding finish
Description
One of the most historic and sought-after properties in the New World, A2 was originally purchased and planted by Thomas Rutherford in 1895. Wines from this vineyard are opulent, rich and full-bodied with notes of black currant, cedar and cherry, and the earthiness for which the Rutherford appellation is renowned. We called this wine "Vero" Oleandri because it graces us with remarkably clear and true insight into what Rutherford is all about. We are immensely fortunate and proud to source fruit from this iconic vineyard!

Winemaker, Oleandri Wines
Fred is a veteran of Napa and Sonoma Valley harvests, and received his technical winemaking education through the University of California Davis program in Viticulture & Enology. Fred’s introduction to winemaking began very early when grandfather Giovanni Vella bottled California reds and grandfather Onofrio D’Amato made the case for Italian reds and whites in the 1970’s. Fred is thrilled to work with winemaker and craftsman, Patrick Saboe, and the elite Oleandri team dedicated to year-round winemaking.
