Description
This special offering is a single-barrel bottling from the best block of our Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard on Atlas Peak. We call this block Koko's block named for our chocolate Lab. Koko would follow me as I walked to the vineyard each morning, then take off to chase and explore, and after his adventures he would patiently wait for me in what is the upper section of block #1. Koko lived to be 14, and the last few years he was no longer able to run and chase, but he would still follow me into the vineyard and wait for me, always in the same spot in Block #1. We now call this Koko's Block. The wine produced from this block is consistently our best.

My wife and I built VinRoc from scratch. We learned and studied as we were planning and developing the vineyard and later building our winery. We soon found that Atlas Peak doesn't fit the textbook examples. The rugged rocky hillside that is the site of our Cabernet Vineyard required a different approach than the valley floor. My goal in making VinRoc is to produce a wine that truly reflects the unique qualities of our vineyard.
