Description
Benessere Vin Santo is a port-style wine made from a single clone of Sangiovese grown on an extremely restrictive rootstock in our estate vineyard. This is the only Sangiovese port-style wine produced in California that we know of, and we selected our favorite of the four barrels of this delicious nectar we produced to create this singular lot.
Vin Santo is traditionally served as an after dinner drink. Deep ruby with a slight garnet edge in color, Benessere 2005 Estate Sangiovese Vin Santo is full-bodied, with intense aromas of velvety, opulent fruit on the nose. Concentrated flavors of ripe plums, crushed black currant and dried fruit combine harmoniously with silky tannins and a lingering, balanced finish that fills the mouth. This wine will age well for the next 10 years.
