Description
Named in honor of our founder of 1862, Jacob Schram, the J. Schram epitomizes our philosophy to create a wine in which no effort has been spared. Focused on Chardonnay and balanced with Pinot Noir (80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir), this blend is crafted only from the finest base wine lots of the vintage. The 1992, our fifth J.Schram bottling, was originally disgorged in May 1998. For the 2007 Premiere Napa Valley, the 1992 J Schram Late-Disgorged has been allowed to age en tirage for an additional nine years in our Diamond Mountain caves. Fifteen years of bottle aging in contact with the yeast sediment has allowed this wine to develop bold, robust aromas of roasted nuts, baked breads, dried tropical fruits and honey. The palate exhibits a rich balance of pleasing oxidation, exotic fruit and riding acidity.
