Description
Northeast of Calistoga, in the shadow of Mt. St. Helena, the 35-acre Palisades Vineyard is our most prized vineyard. The alluvial stone and gravel create a ‘horizontal hillside’ meaning that the soils are very poor and infertile giving rise to paltry yields of small, densely concentrated Cabernet berries which produce wines of striking intensity. The wines from Palisades are richly aromatic and expressive, wedded to dense tannins and a full, unctuous palate.
