Description
The Premiere lot is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot from the most cherished blocks of our estate. Eighty percent of the lot is Cabernet Sauvignon from Block 18 and Petit Verdot from Block 19, located at the top of our southern-facing vineyard on steep terrain that consists of more boulders than soil and provides a yield of less than 1/2 ton per acre each. Fruit from these blocks is exceptionally small, and its high grape-skin-to-juice ratio delivers power to any blend it touches. The remaining 20% of the blend is Cabernet Sauvignon from Block 1 and Permanent Pasture Block, located in the lower elevations of our estate. These lend grace, elegance and perfume, introducing another layer of complexity to the power and intensity derived from Blocks 18 and 19. - Jim Duane, Winemaker

Aged for 18 months in 100% French Oak Barrels (40% new).

Winemaker, Seavey Vineyard
Jim has led Seavey's winemaking since 2011 after stints at Robert Mondavi Winery and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars where he became inspired to focus on Bordeaux varietals. Jim combines rich knowledge of winemaking from around the world with deep technical understanding of vineyards and wine, receiving his Master's Degree in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis.
