Description
Every year, there is always one vineyard site—and even one fermentation lot from that vineyard site—that stands out among the others from the very first day in the cellar. In 2011, that awe-inspiring lot was from the Martinez Vineyard located on Pritchard Hill high above the Napa Valley. This Premiere Napa Valley barrel is the best selection from that lot. The exceptional terroir of this famed hill allows for slow, nuanced ripening, creating Cabernets with deep layers of complexity as apparent on the crush pad as they will be after years of cellaring. Indeed, this lot of Purlieu Martinez Vineyard – “Cachére” Cabernet will be enticing upon release, but will also reward a decade or more of further patience.
