2005 Petit Verdot
Diamond Mountain District
Of all the Bordeaux grapes, Petit Verdot has the darkest color, most intense aroma (imagine fresh blueberry syrup), and the most viscous mouth feel. When the von Strassers bought their estate in 1990, the first course of action was to plant Petit Verdot, with the goal of making a Diamond Mountain "ultra wine." The result is our Reserve, a unique blend of our finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot blocks, which is made only in the best years. For our 2006 Premiere Napa Valley lot, we have bottled a Petit Verdot that is a true expression of the varietal.
