Description
The fruit for DCV Sandbox Blend I comes from a northern block of our Yountville appellation Deux Chevaux Vineyard we call Barry's Sandbox. In 2002, Tamber Bey vintner Barry Waitte planted multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot there for the purpose of creating unique, small-lot blends. Blends produced from this block have included our Rabicano, Sabino and Tovero.
DCV Sandbox Blend I is is predominantly Cabernet Franc blended with Petit Verdot. It is the first of an annual series of "Sandbox Blend" wines we will create specifically for Premiere Napa Valley, presenting an ongoing opportunity for bidders to obtain a series of special-lot wines and also to show our long-term commitment to Napa Valley Vintners.
