Description
This single-barrel lot of Oberon Hillside Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was chosen personally by the Michael Mondavi family. Small crops of intensely flavored grapes are harvested from their hillside vineyards, planted to specification in 1998 by Michael and his son, Rob. Well-drained volcanic soils and excellent sun exposure produce wines with concentrated dark fruit flavors, balanced by coffee and toasted vanilla nuances from barrel aging. This special single-barrel selection from the 2008 vintage persists as an ideal representation of the excellent wines that Napa Valley hillside vineyards yield.
