Description
When blending Trinchero’s reserve Meritage, Winemaker Joe Shirley uses estate-grown Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, but looks to other vineyards for Cabernet Sauvignon. One of these—Bella Vista Vineyard—is the source for this year's Premiere barrel lot. Located at the western edge of Napa Valley near Calistoga, Bella Vista is just outside the Diamond Mountain AVA. At 1,200 feet elevation, it is a mountain Cabernet in every sense of the word.
