Description
Gemstone's 2014 Premiere Lot is a a blend of four bordeaux varietals planted on our 16-acre Estate Vineyard located in Yountville. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot was sourced from four of our unique blocks. Each block was fermented separately and the wine aged for 24 months in new French oak.

Philippe Melka
Winemaker, Gemstone Vineyard
Born and raised in Bordeaux, France, I attended the University of Bordeaux graudating with a degree in geology, then a Master's degree in enology and agronomy. My first winery was Chateau Haut Brion, followed by work and study in Australia, Italy, back in France (Petrus) and finally in Napa Valley (Dominus). I began consulting in 1995, and Lail Vineyards was one of my first projects.
