Highlights

  • Our estate Rattlesnake Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) is blended with estate Petit Verdot (10%)
  • Grown high in the Spring Mountain District at 2,050 feet on a subsoil of andesite volcanic rock
  • The fruit is sourced from struggling southeast-facing vines producing less than 1.5 tons per acre
  • Aging in our estate caves for 22 months in new French oak, utilizing 16 different cooperage houses

Description

Our estate is located at 2,050 feet in elevation high in the Spring Mountain District. Here the boulder-infused soil and 35-degree terraced slopes offer perfect sun exposure, while the cooling night winds at this altitude allow a more extended period of flavor development before the sugars increase (grapes are typically picked three weeks later than those on the valley floor). This leads to the production of an amazingly concentrated yet balanced mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that is appealing as a life-sized wine in its youth, which can age incredibly well for more than a decade. This unique blend of the elegant 2021 Rattlesnake Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) with the powerhouse massive 2021 Petit Verdot (10%) results in an amazingly fragrant wine with phenomenal concentration.
